So I have this delusion that if I wrap the diapers up nice and tight before I put them in the diaper pail then it won't stink as badly. Today as I was feeding Makaio, there were some pretty loud and offensive noises coming from the direction of Kekoa's diaper. I tried to feed Makaio quickly in order to prevent a blowout from occurring but Makaio was having none of that. About ten minutes later, I finished feeding Makaio and hurried over to assess the damage. Luckily he did not have a blowout but the scent that smacked me in the face as I lifted the blanket was nasty!
I took him to the room and changed his diaper. It was completely full of poop and so I proceeded to do my "wrap it tight to lock in the smell" maneuver. If I had considered the fact that sometimes runny poop will not be contained then I wouldn't have ended up with poop all over my thumb! Truth be told, I did puke a little bit in my mouth.
Lesson Learned!
